EDF-50 POWER SYSTEM ELECTRIC DUCTED FAN

The EDF 50 comes in three versions from Air Craft:

*EDF-50 = 3-blade 2x2" rotor with 4.8V "RLC" Motor
*EDF-50A = 3-blade 2x3" rotor with 4.8V "RLC" Motor
*EDF-50BH = 5-blade 2x3" rotor with 7.2V "RXC" Motor

All of these are best used with lithium polymer cells, as the combination of weight saving and runtime is so important in ducted fan models. the E-Tec 700-2S or 1200-2S 7.4v packs (for models with low wing loading when you want LONG flights) are best in the EDF-50 and EDF-5A as these motors are limited to 7.4V.
   The EDF-50BH, with the lower Kv motor, can take advantage of the ET-P0700-3S (11.1V 700mAh) pack, to get a lot of watts out with lower amperage and longer run-time. It's a very good fan where max thrust is more important than max speed, such as in the A-10 Warthog kit.
   We stock all of the rotors and both motor types as spares, so you can mix and match using the fan you own now.  We include the data below for combinations we don't sell so that you can select parts to assemble the best set for your application.
    Castle Creations PIXIE 7PUse the superb, programmable, tiny, super-light Castle Creations Pixie 7P to protect your lithium or NiMH battery when running at 7 amps or less. The E-Tec Smart Charger 2 is the safest on the market, and can charge single cells or 2S (7.4v) packs.  The Smart Charger 4 can charge from 1 to 4S packs.  Either can charge any number of cells in parallel.
