HYPERION Programming Titan ESC with the Emeter |
To start, check that the Emeter power switch is in the OFF position, marked "0" on the side of the case. Now connect the programming patch cable to the Emeter and Hyperion Titan series speed controller. The patch cable between Emeter and Titan ESC does not have a polarity - either end can be attached to the Emeter or ESC, but you must observe the correct attachment of connector to the Titan ESC, as shown in the second picture below. |

The blanked pinout on the other connector (see arrow on connector in pic above) orients TOWARD the BLACK (negative) battery-side wire on the Titan ESC. For TITAN 90HV, the blanked pinout (see arrow on connector in pic above) orients AWAY from the three YELLOW Motor-side wires. Note that progrmming TITAN 90HV requires Emeter Firmware Version 1.1 or higher. See this page for latest Emeter firmware updates. Note: the polarity information on the ESC heatsink (GND V+ Tx Rx) is NOT intended to match particular wire colors on the connector.
Now, power ON the Emeter, by sliding the switch to position marked "1" on
right side of case. If everything is connected properly, and the Emeter
batteries are charged, you'll be greeted with the screen below. If the
Emeter should go instead to Tachometer mode, re-check your connection
polarity to the Titan ESC. |

After a few seconds, the display will shift to page one of
Titan programming mode, pictured below. There are three buttons used during
programming and corresponding cues on the screen: (see additional notes at page bottom) |

By pushing button 'D' again, we return to our original page,
BRAKE. Note that setting Governor ON automatically turned off Brake! |
Press button 'A' to end your programming at any time, and get a friendly reminder to turn off your Emeter. | |

| Note 1: Battery TYPE Selection: The Emeter automatically detects Titan ESC type, and offers appropriate Li-Po choices, up to 10S for the TITAN 90A ESC. (your Emeter may require upgraded firmware to recognize newer ESC type) | |||
|
Note 2: Governor Mode:
(not available in TITAN90HV-PO) RANGE 1 Max 40,000 rpm / number magnet poles RANGE 2 Max 100,000 rpm / number magnet poles RANGE 3 Max 200,000 rpm / number magnet poles So, for example, a Hyperion X-22L-3900 motor (two-pole) in Governor Range 1 would be limited to: 40,000 rpm / 2 = 20,000 rpm. |

| Note 3: The Emeter screen is really beautiful. The smudges you see in the LCD pictues above are a shadow from the lamp I used to light the shots, I think.... | |||
| Note 4: See the 10A to 80A or 90A Titan Manuals, for all the specs and stick-mode programming. | |||
