A DC Power supply was used for most testing.  You can approximate the voltage a battery pack will produce using the chart belowfor cell counts.  The chart assumes that the battery is being used near rated current limit.  Using a pack with higher capacity cells (or very "High C" types) will result in voltage, rpm,  and current draw which could be 20% higher. Use an ammeter like the Hyperion Emeter to check current before flight!

[note: June 6] Mr. P. Connolly has done some tests using 7 and 10-cell NiMH packs for the Z3025-06 and Z3025-08, so those are given as "cells" in the voltage column below.  Where a voltage is given, test were done on our power supply, so use the chart above to approximate cell counts.

Z3025-06 is specifically intended for 7-Cell LMR glider competition (or 2S Lithium sport glider use). Props 12x6 to 15x10 may be used, depending on whether you are in competition, or just having fun.  Performance is rather astounding - matching Hacker B40 6L +4.4:1 Maxon gearbox motors in efficiency of about 80% at 70A, while weighing nearly 40 grams less and costing about 40% of the price.  Very nice in 1.4~1.6M Hotliners with 11x8 prop on 7~8 cells, too.

The Z3025-06 can also do duty in an IC engine 25-Class to 40-Class models with 3S lithium and APC SPORT 9x5 to 9x6 props. We do not recommend "E" props for this motor on 3S lithium. Battery should be rated for 38 to 45A continuous depending on prop.

GP-3300NiMH were used in the Z3025-06 folder tests below.
NOTE:  Some users report much higher current (up to 20A Higher!) and rpm with GP-2200 and 3800.  Test batteries may have been tired... so fit prop and check current with your batteries!

Z3025-08 is excellent as motor for sport gliders 2~2.5M on 7~9 cells with props 12"~14".  Choose prop/battery to achieve 50A or less if runtimes will exceed 20 seconds.

On 3S lithium rated for about 40A continuous or higher, the Z3025-08 is a superb motor for sport models from about 1Kg to 2.5Kg, depending on type.  In the Hyperion P-51 Mustang 25, which weighs about 1.5Kg with retracts and scale spinner, the motor provides exciting speed and very strong climbs at only 327W on APC "E" 10x7 prop.  With the 10x10 APC "E", it is 'blazing' fast.....

Max prop size on 3S for an E3D models should be 12x6E.  For 4S, limit prop to APC SPORT 11x4 maximum (do not use "E" prop on 4S).

HP-Z3025-10 is primarily intended for thermal gliders using large folding props, for E3D models on 3S, and sport models on 3S or 4S lithium. Max prop size on 3S for an E3D models should be 13x6.5E.
